26-27 Hero Bot Flop

This year’s hero bot is very consistent in scoring L2 and L1s. The intake is extremely consistent and paired with a good drivetrain and driver, it is a good starting robot.

Goals:

• Consistently score L2 and L3

• Make a good route for every kind of teammate (catapult, lift hero bot)

Advantages

• Intake is very consistent

• Can consistently score and pass beanbags

• Easy to drive

• Simple to build

Disadvantages

• Can’t score L4

• Takes a long time to gather and place beanbags

• Easy to accidentally hit 2 beanbags (DQ)

• Can break down often

Build 02 // Scrimmage o2

DR4B (Double Reverse 4 Bar)

This design was meant to specifically score on L4. I used a 1:5 gear ratio for power and 4 motors. This allowed it to lift the bean bag to L4 faster. The drivetrain is a 3:1 gear ratio so it can move around and collect beanbags faster.

Pros:

• Able to score and achieve high points by scoring on L4.

Cons:

• Unable to score on pyramid goal easily

• When paired with another L4 scoring robot, its doesn’t have anything to do after scoring all yellow beanbags
